Appirio has released four new Google Gadgets that you can add to your own iGoogle web portal to keep up to date on all things Salesforce.
Don’t know what a Google Gadget is? It’s a small piece of code that you can add to your own personal Google homepage that simplifies a task. Maybe it gathers information for you. It could be sports scores, RSS feeds, a to do list, or in this case, Salesforce.com data you care about.
The four types of gadgets are Sales Sleuth, Opportunity Knocks, Task Watcher, and Case Watcher. Each has it’s own function allowing you to track Accounts, Contacts, Opportunities, Tasks, and Cases all from the “comfort” of your Google homepage. With each gadget, you can hover over the data provided and see more detail, allowing you to click through to view all the data in context within Salesforce.
Here’s an example.
You can download these Google Gadgets and read more about them at Appirio’s website.
Steve Anderson has written some Apex code that allows you to run cron jobs in Salesforce, using the Apex platform. It looks like a minimal amount of code and seems to shed light on what we could possibly do using Apex.
Put your “what problem could that solve for us?” hat on and keep an open mind. Though I don’t yet know how this might help us in the future, we should keep it in mind and come back to it as the need arises.
One of my favorite bits from Top Gear. Not only do James and Richard have to test their driving skills, they each have to endure the other’s driving skills in these real remote control cars.
Jeremy Clarkson takes a drive in the Ariel Atom 2. His face will probably never be the same. If live in the US or Canada and you’d like to drive the Atom 2 for yourself, be sure to check out the Ariel Atom Experience where for only $1,850 USD, you can get lessons and drive it on a track for yourself. NICE!
